Q: How early should I book my wedding photography with you?

A: As early as possible. The wedding season is a busy time and the popular dates fill up fast, so it is important to contact me as soon as you can. I do still have some 2018 dates available and am booking into 2019, as well.


Q: What photographic style do you identify with?

A: Capturing photos at your wedding requires me to be excellent at several styles of photography. Over the course of a typical wedding day, there will be times where I will need to work in a contemporary style, other times I will need to work in a photojournalism style, and your wedding photos wouldn’t be complete without stunning portraiture, and of course we will get some traditional posed photos as well. One of the reasons I enjoy wedding photography so much is the opportunity to dabble in many styles throughout the day.


Q: What do your wedding photography packages include?

A: All of my wedding photography packages include a pre-wedding consultation, a complementary engagement session, creation of your wedding day photography timeline, and delivery of high resolution, professionally edited, digital wedding photos on a custom flash drive. My packages vary in number of hours on the day of, as well as inclusion of other items like a custom wedding photobook, and they range from $1,495 to $2,295. Q: What if we’ve already had engagement photos done or we don’t want any?

A: You certainly have the option to forego the engagement shoot, but because the session is added complementary and I have not assigned a monetary amount to it, there isn’t a number to deduct if we don’t do it. I include it in all of wedding packages and highly recommend doing them (even if you’ve already done some) because it gives all three of us a chance to break the ice, get to know each other, and practice poses. It is such an important tool that all three of us get to utilize before your big day. It allows for more emotion and candid moments to be captured on the wedding day (and we get through photos faster since we would have already practiced together). Plus we could do them in a different season to give you photos with a different look 🙂


Q: What should we wear for our engagement photos?

A: Whatever you feel comfortable in, and you are welcome to bring more than one outfit if you’d like to get more than one look for your photos. When deciding on your outfits, don’t worry about matching too much – contrasting colors can look great! I have put together a Pinterest board with some outfit ideas for your session. If you need further help, let’s talk, I’m happy to answer any questions or share more inspiration.


Q: Where should we have our engagement shoot?

A: What sort of feel do you want for your shoot? A nature feel or more urban? It really depends what you envision and what feels like “you”. I am very open to your ideas and I am, of course, willing to share some of my own ideas and suggestions if you’re unsure. We could take a walk around downtown Spokane or downtown Coeur d’Alene if you’re wanting a more urban feel or we have so many beautiful parks in our area for more of a nature feel. There’s also a variety of parks around Spokane that are right on the Spokane River that give a variety of beautiful shots (trees, bridge, rocks, river, etc), like Riverside State Park, People’s Park, Huntington Park, and Mirabeau Point Park. We could also do more of a lifestyle shoot, by including photos in your home, favorite restaurant, Comic Book Shop, etc. The options are pretty much endless.


Q: How many wedding photos do you deliver?

A: Rather than aiming for a specific number, I focus on creating quality images that thoroughly tell the story of your wedding day. That said, for an 8 hour day, I generally deliver at least 600 professionally edited images.


Q: Do you need a wedding shot list?

A: I do ask for a shot list for your posed family photos to ensure that we don’t forget any specific combinations of family members that are important to you. I then take your list of important family shots and I put it in order to maximize our time and efficiency on the day of. Beyond that, though, I prefer not to work off a list. Your wedding is a series of dynamic moments, not a static checklist. Unless there’s something that I wouldn’t be expecting to happen at all or a special shot that you want to make sure I get, don’t worry about a checklist – I’ve got it covered!


Q: Do you have experience working with various lighting conditions?

A: Yes, I am comfortable working in all kinds of venues with all types of lighting conditions. I can use available natural light, or I have plenty of lights to create my own lighting when necessary.


Q: How many photographers do you work with?

A: Most of the time, I am a one-woman show. However, if you would like a second photographer for certain parts of the day, I can certainly have another photographer join me. There would just be an additional charge based on the number of hours you want a second shooter for.


Q: Do you guarantee your presence at my wedding?

A: Absolutely! I wouldn’t miss your wedding for anything!


Q: Do you have insurance?

A: Definitely! My business is fully licensed and insured!


Q: What photography equipment do you bring with you on the day of the wedding?

A: My primary camera body is a Canon 5D Mark III and I have a variety of professional lenses, including a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L II, a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II, a Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro, a Sigma 35mm f/1.4 ART, a Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM, and a few others. I also bring lighting equipment, tripods, lots of extra memory cards and batteries. Equipment needs can vary a lot from one wedding to the next, so I always over-prepare by packing way more stuff than I expect to need.


Q: Do you bring back up equipment in case of malfunction?

A: Yes, I always pack a back-up camera body, lots of lenses, back up batteries and memory cards, and the list goes on. It’s good to be over-prepared when it comes to wedding photography.


Q: Do you charge for travel?

A: I don’t charge if the venue is in the general Spokane/Coeur d’Alene area. If the venue is outside this area, the extra charge would vary based on how far I need to drive, if I would need to get a hotel room, etc. To get a quote based on your wedding location, please contact me.


Q: How soon after our wedding will our photos be ready?

A: Within one week of your wedding, I will have a sneak peek up on Facebook and Instagram. Within three or four weeks of your wedding, I’ll create a blog post of some of my favorite finished images, typically 15-25. Within 6 weeks of your wedding, I will send you a link to your online proofing gallery. As I work on your photos, I’ll keep adding to the proofing gallery. All of your photos will be finished within 12 weeks of your wedding, if not earlier, and once you approve the images in your proofing gallery, I will ship your final images on your custom usb.


Q: Do you retain the copyright of the photos?

A: Yes, as your professional wedding photographer, I will retain copyright of all your wedding images, however I always provide an official print release for you, which allows for unlimited personal use and printing of your wedding photos.


Q: Will our photos be available to view online?

A: Yes – first I’ll post a sneak peek on Facebook and Instagram. Then I’ll create a blog post about your amazing wedding day on my website. Then you will have an online photo gallery that you can share with friends and family.


Q: What kind of wedding photobooks, albums, and other print products do you offer?

A: I’m so glad you asked! Because I love to see your photos come to life! Some of my packages come with custom photobooks already included, and I also offer a variety of other beautiful products that you can purchase if you choose. After your photos are complete, we can discuss these products and you can look through my samples to really get a feel for the beauty and quality before deciding if you’d like to add anything.


Q: When will we get our photobook(s) and other products?

A: Wedding photobooks, albums, and other products are ordered immediately upon your final approval and generally arrive 6-8 weeks after that. Because our photobooks and albums are custom made, the amount of time to complete them can vary, but it’s definitely worth the wait!
